내 얼굴을 구하기까지 Seeking My Face

하나님이 원하시는 것은 a.우리가 죄를 뉘우치고 b.하나님의 얼굴을 구하는 것입니다.(15절) 우리의 믐과 마음은 모두 하나님께 돌아가야 합니다. 누가복음 15장에는 아버지의 집으로 돌아가야 할 두 사람이 나옵니다. 돌탕(돌아온 탕자)은 돌아왔지만, 집탕(집에 있던 탕자의 형)은 끝내 돌아오지 않았죠. 몸은 항상 집에 붙어 있었지만, 사실 그의 마음은 아버지의 집을 떠난지 이미 오래였죠.

호세아서를 통해 우리는 내가 바로 음란한 아내 고멜임을 깨닫게 됩니다. 집으로 돌아오긴 했는데, 여전히 신랑에게 집중하지 못하고 세상을 곁눈질하는 돌아오지 못한 마음이 우리 안에 있는 것이죠. 몸은 돌아왔는데, 마음이 여전히 다 돌아오지 못한 신자들이 교회 안에는 많습니다. 우리가 돌이켜 하나님의 얼굴을 구할 때, 하나님께선 우리를 치유와 회복의 은혜로 싸매어주실 것입니다(호6:1).

What God desires is (a)that we repent of our sins and (b)that we seek His face (verse 15). Both our hearts and minds must be turned back to God. In Luke 15, we have two men who needed to return to their father's home. The prodigal son returned, but the prodigal son's brother (the one who was at home) did not. *His body was always attached to home, but his mind had long since left his father's house.

Through the book of Hosea, we realize that "I am Gomer", the adulterous wife. We may have come home, but we still have an unreturned heart that is distracted by the world instead of focusing on the bridegroom. There are many believers in the church whose bodies have returned, but whose hearts are still not all the way back.

When we turn and seek God's face, He will wrap us in His healing and restoring grace (Hos. 6:1).
